Most of us were born into a religion which taught us to fear an invisible god. That god supposedly controls the whole world. But what if that god was not a supernatural being, but just a fellow human with the skill set of a master manipulator? What if God doesn’t care about us, but instead only cares about himself and his agents – priests, pastors, imams, etc.?
The author of this book was born into a conservative Muslim family, but one day, he decided to analyse his religion using his logical brain. After all, if it was God who gave people a brain, then God would have no objection if humans actually use their God-given brain. As the author continued his analysis of the Muslim and Christian god, he got pulled deeper and deeper into a rabbit hole, until he finally realised that God’s behaviour is no different than a human being with no supernatural powers. That realisation prompted him to ask a very important question for all human beings: If god is just a human who manipulates other people for personal gain, then what could we possibly gain from cooperating with such a god?
